R+T 2022 has been postponed. The next edition will take place from 19 to 23 February 2024.
Messe Stuttgart is postponing the R+T - the world's leading trade fair for roller shutters, doors and sun protection, originally scheduled for February 2022, until 19 to 23 February 2024.
"In close consultation with our exhibitors and partners on the risk assessment, it has emerged that due to the renewed increase in pandemic-related travel restrictions, a broad participation of international guests at R+T in spring 2022 is no longer realistic", explains Roland Bleinroth, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart.
"This is not compatible with R+T's claim to be a leading global trade fair. We have therefore decided to consider other alternatives in the interests of all concerned," Bleinroth continues. R+T is the most international trade fair at the Stuttgart location. At the last edition of the world's leading trade fair in 2018, three quarters of the exhibitors came from abroad. The proportion of international visitors was 60 %, who came from over 140 countries.
Situation developing dynamically
Sebastian Schmid, Head of the Technology Department at Messe Stuttgart, adds: "In the last few weeks and months, we have been in intensive and transparent communication with our customers on a daily basis regarding the implementation of R+T. Right up to the end, we fought together with the exhibiting companies for R+T to be held. The current Covid-19-related regulations of the state of Baden-Württemberg as well as the Safe Expo concept implemented by us would allow a safe event to be held in the spring, given the current state of knowledge. However, developments are currently very dynamic and against this background we have to conclude that R+T in the usual form and quality will not be possible in February 2022. We therefore see it as our responsibility to give all those involved planning security and to postpone R+T to 2024. We will develop a digital moving image format for the industry's trend themes and innovations. However, we are refraining from a purely digital trade fair edition, as at R+T digital." The next R+T will take place from 19 to 23 February 2024.
The trade has been longing for a personal reunion at R+T in Stuttgart. But due to the cancellations of major manufacturing companies and the very likely lack of international character of the trade fair, the postponement has unfortunately become apparent in recent weeks, to the great regret of all. However, we are looking forward to the new date with confidence and are looking forward to a great trade fair in 2024.
We support this decision and are convinced that R+T 2024, with all its associated parameters, will once again be a complete success.
We welcome Messe Stuttgart's responsible decision to postpone R+T in the current pandemic situation, even if some personal regret is involved. It is up to all of us to make 2024 a great event!
