The virtual PowerSKIN Conference held on 8 December 2022 aims to discuss the future role of building envelope to achieve carbon neutral building stocks. The focus of this year’s conference is on the building fabric with its environmental potential. Integrating the environmental dimension of material and construction into the design phase is increasingly important.

A key consideration here is the energy and emissions linked to the manufacturing of the building materials and furthermore the potential to reuse and recycle them. For this reason, the PowerSKIN Team has chosen the theme "Build in stock – renovation strategies: inorganic, circular materials vs. organic, compostable materials".
Submit abstracts by March 13
In that vein, the organisers are now inviting the submission of an abstract for paper publication in one of the sub-sessions "Energy", "Envelope" and "Environment". The abstract proposal should be submitted at the latest on March 13, 2022 to powerskin.klima@ed.tum.de.

In keeping with the theme, the PowerSKIN Conference will be broadcast from a converted office building as part of the Pop-Up Campus RWTH Aachen University: PowerSKIN re-used.
