The two glass facades, more than 40 m in length and covering the long sides of the Wagner showroom, each consist of only two panes of insulating glass. At just under 20 m long, they are the largest triple glass windows that have ever been installed worldwide.
The design of the building comes from the architects Titus Bernhard and Andreas Weißenbach (Augsburg): A rectangular box as a superstructure of the former family house of the Wagner family, the opposite long sides of which seem virtually open due to the size of the glass panes.
The highlight comes from the immediate vicinity: The glass processor sedak (Gersthofen) produced four triple insulating panes, each with a size of 3.04 x 19.2m, for the new showroom. The glasses are made of a double TVG laminate with heat protection coating and SG interlayer.
This creates two areas of 117 square meters of glass - with just a single joint. The Wagner Design Lab is the first building worldwide with glasses in this oversize. An important milestone was set with the installation of the facade panes in March 2020, according to sedak.
