Semco doubles production capacity with new facility expansion

Semco, a leading manufacturer in the glass industry, has recently completed the expansion of its production facilities at its Westerstede site. The new 3,000 m² production hall has effectively doubled the company's glass cutting capacity, marking a major milestone in its ongoing commitment to innovation and efficiency.

According to Hermann Schüller, Managing Partner of the Semco Group, "With the new facility, we have not only increased our capacity but also integrated state-of-the-art technologies to make our production process more efficient and environmentally friendly." This expansion was crucial for meeting the increasing demand for insulating glass, ensuring that Semco can continue to offer a wide range of products with maximum flexibility.

The new facility allows for the synchronization of glass cutting and assembly of insulated glass units, resulting in a more efficient production process. Additionally, further automation of operations reduces manual tasks, enhances workplace safety, and improves the overall working environment for employees.

New product innovations

The expansion also paves the way for Semco to introduce new and innovative products. Among these is Semco Wing Protect, a bird protection glass featuring transparent stripe patterns that act as barriers to birds while remaining nearly invisible to the human eye. This product has successfully passed the WIN test conducted by the Vogelwarte in Hohenau, Austria.

"We are committed to meeting the high standards of our customers and strengthening our position as a leading provider," Schüller adds.

Another noteworthy product is Semco Vista, which offers a nearly clear, color-true, and reflection-free view. This glass is particularly suitable for applications in shopping centers, museums, zoos, and medical facilities where glare-free viewing is essential. Semco Vista also provides significant advantages for counter glazing and refrigerators with glass fronts.

Additionally, Semco has introduced Semco Clearview, a highly efficient thermal insulation glass solution designed to reduce exterior condensation issues. The glass surface is heated through a special functional coating, which minimizes the occurrence of condensation and ensures it dissipates quickly.
