"Our traditional company in its 5th generation employs around 60 people and has a very wide product variety in insulating glass. In particular, we offer customised solutions for the most individual requirements for our business customers," says Rosemarie Natter, who has been managing the company very successfully for around 20 years.
When asked by GW-News what distinguishes the company, the company manager says: "Our core competence is the good and trusting cooperation with our customers, some of whom have been buying glass from us for decades. We offer them exceptional service, punctuality and delivery reliability, as well as a high degree of flexibility."
What distinguishes Glas Natter is the high proportion of women in the management team. Owner Rosemarie Natter: "Just to be clear: There are many more men than women in the company. But in the company management as well as in the commercial area, women have the majority." This is an exception in the otherwise male-dominated glass industry.
The company is currently under the management of the owner and the authorised signatory and sales manager Petra Eckl. In addition, there is the team in administration and production that has been working well together for years. Barbara Bosse has been active in the company again for about two years and is preparing for taking over the reins from her mother.

The business graduate has previously held various positions in other branches of industry, at home and abroad. Barbara Bosse: "Today I am working alongside Petra Eckl to benefit from her almost 40 years of experience. I am involved in both the day-to-day operational business and the strategic orientation of the company."
This marks the beginning of the succession of the company. After almost two decades at the helm of the glass company, Rosemarie Natter is handing over the family business to her daughter Barbara at the end of the year, who wants to continue it in her spirit.
The most successful year in the company's 170-year history
Due to the sudden passing of her husband Hubert Natter, Rosemarie Natter had to take over the management from one day to the next. With a lot of drive and foresight, the mother of two daughters dedicated herself to her new function and, together with the great support of her team, continued to move Glas Natter forward. This commitment was crowned two years ago with the best turnover in the company's history.
"Today we are more successful than ever," Managing Director Rosemarie Natter told GW-News. "In 2021, we had the best turnover in our entire 170-year company history."
Glas Natter focuses on insulating glass: In addition to all functional and multifunctional insulating glass from the Isolar partner company, custom-made products are the order of the day.
Due to the daily inflow of basic glass, the glass warehouse is always stocked with around 600 tonnes of glass. In the spirit of sustainability, the glass products are usually delivered regionally, within a radius of 150 kilometres, with 10 company-owned (26-ton) trucks, mostly directly to the construction site.
But what makes the company so successful?
"Mutual trust is the basis of a well-functioning business, both internally and externally," says the owner. "When I took over the management, as a non-specialist, I fortunately had competent employees whom I trusted. Of course, the products and their quality have to be right, that's the basis, of course."

Barbara Bosse adds: "Our employees can act independently in their departments and are given a lot of responsibility, which they live up to with great commitment. Our high proportion of women is certainly an advantage when dealing with business partners. Especially in challenging situations, a good sense of empathy, female intuition and a balancing nature are appreciated."
Investments are key to good business
Today, however, the company is not only in a very good economic position, but also has state-of-the-art equipment in terms of machines and software as well as its own fleet of vehicles.
Rosemarie Natter: "Every year we invest in machines, software upgrades and new trucks. This high product standard has always given us a competitive edge, reinforced by a solid base of long-term skilled workers. Barbara Bosse emphasises, "Our very good working atmosphere, the range of benefits such as fresh fruit every day, health care in the form of weekly in-house massages, company pension scheme, petrol vouchers, health premium, Saturday work premium, capital-forming benefits, in addition to all the current tax-advantaged bonuses, are what our employees thank us for with decades of loyalty, often up to 20, 30 and 40 years.
Glass start-up SodaSandLime
Barbara and her sister Veronika are pursuing an exciting project with the start-up #Sand.Soda.Lime (see Instagram). Via this platform, they offer glass and mirror tables that they design themselves and that are available in different variations.
The glass tables are then manufactured locally in Regensburg. In addition to the standard tables, the objects can also be customised and made in individual formats at the customer's request. In addition, other interior products will be distributed via #Sand.Soda.Lime in the future.
