The glass products of Saint-Gobain Glass now certified are the first building glass products to be certified to the latest version 4.0 of the standard in all five Cradle to Cradle Certified categories (see below). This important step underlines Saint-Gobain Glass' commitment to sustainability in the glass industry, promoting a circular economy and minimising the environmental footprint of its glass products.

"Cradle to Cradle certification at Bronze level for our float, coated and laminated glass products is proof of Saint-Gobain's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility," says Fabrice Desmons, International Marketing Director Building Glass.
Desmos continues: "We are honoured to be recognised for our joint efforts in developing products that not only meet high performance standards, but also pave the way for more sustainable construction."
The key points of the Cradle to Cradle Certified certification
1. material health: Saint-Gobain Glass products have been tested for the use of materials that are safe for human and environmental health and have achieved the Platinum level.
2. recyclability of products: Saint-Gobain Glass actively promotes the recycling of materials, contributing to a closed-loop system. Saint-Gobain Glass recycling initiatives are being developed to enable the recovery of more and more post-consumer glass cullet. Planiclear products reach the silver level, while Oraé reaches the highest level of platinum thanks to its 64 per cent of recycled content.
3. clean air and climate protection: Saint-Gobain Glass demonstrates its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint in its production sites by reducing fossil fuel consumption thanks to continuous improvements and using more and more electricity from renewable energy sources in its production processes. Bronze level is achieved.
4. responsible coping with water and soil: Saint-Gobain Glass actively manages water resources in its production sites to ensure responsible use and minimise the impact on water. The silver level is achieved.
5. social fairness: Saint-Gobain Glass production sites fulfil their role as responsible employers and attach importance to fair working conditions and social commitment. The bronze level is achieved.
