AGC increases capacity to offer CO2-reduced glass

The first production series of low-carbon glass came off the production line at the AGC float plant in Seingbous.

CO2-reduced glass is becoming increasingly important for AGC, which is why the French float plant in Seingbouse now also produces "Low-Carbon Planibel Clearlite" glass, which have a CO2 footprint reduced by around 40 per cent.

With the commissioning of the additional production capacities, AGC Glass Europe is also expanding the range of CO2-reduced product variants of "Stratobel" (safety glass), "Stratophone" (noise control glass), "iplus" (thermal insulation glass) and the "Stopray" and "Energy" solar control glasses to include toughenable coatings (T-Coatings). The entire range is now available in all thicknesses from 4 to 8 millimetres.

After initially only producing CO2-reduced glass at the AGC float glass plant in Moustier, the plant in Seingbouse now also produces "Low-Carbon Planibel Clearlite" float glass. This climate-friendly glass produces less than 7 kg of CO2 per square metre (with a glass thickness of 4 mm).
