fischer fixings secure shopping centre in Serbia

Galerija Belgrade is located on the promenade of the River Sava, just before it joins the Danube. It was commissioned by a joint venture between the Serbian government and Eagle Hills, a private investment company based in Abu Dhabi which focuses on real estate and community development. The complex comprises a total of around 300,000 square metres on three levels, of which 146,000 square metres are for commercial use and 3,600 parking spaces. A rich variety of shops, restaurants and cafés for all generations will make the centre an attractive destination for locals and tourists alike. Cinemas and event venues are also a part of the concept.

Since the start of construction in September 2017, the fischer Group has, via its Austrian subsidiary, supplied a wide range of products and systems to Serbia in order to realise many different installations in concrete structures and hollow bricks. fischer FAZ II and FBN II Wedge Anchors in various designs were used for fixing heavy cables. The range of services also included anchor dimensioning and several pull-out tests. In addition, the service cables were fixed almost exclusively using fischer installation systems. "More than 55 kilometres of our FUS and FLS rail systems including all system components and other accessories were used for the technical building equipment", says Slavoljub Vukčević, technical consultant of the fischer Group’s subsidiary in Austria. "Our FRSM and FRS pipe clamps were also used for pipeline fixing. The customer also used more than 35,000 of our FRSP clamps together with our EA II and FAZ II steel anchors to install the sprinkler systems". This wide range of fastening and assembly solutions from a single source accelerated the installation of the pipes in the technical building equipment, simplified the assembly, shortened the construction time and therefore reduced the overall project costs.

The contractors achieved about 70 per cent of the fire protection with the fischer FireStop products, thus raising the fire safety for people, material goods and infrastructure in the event of a fire. Numerous fischer fixings were also used for fastening railings, facade elements, aluminium applications and steel constructions. "These products included around 8,000 FH II high performance anchors and over 30,000 FBN II bolt anchors, more than 9,000 SXRL long-shaft fixings and chemical anchors such as the injection mortar FIS AB with threaded rods available in Austria", adds Alen Ilic, Technical Consultant at the Austrian subsidiary of the fischer Group.

Project for urban renewal

"There were several reasons why the clients chose our products", says Christian Greicha, managing director of fischer in Austria. "On the one hand, the decision makers were impressed by both the value for money and the quality. The wide range of fastening solutions was just as convincing as the technical support and service on site. They also praised the good cooperation with the regional distributors."
