In addition, C.R. Laurence (CRL) supports the master course for glaziers, which is held annually at the Vocational School for Glass Technology in Kramsach, Tyrol in Austria. The Austrian Guild Master of Roofers, Glaziers and Plumbers, master glazier Walter Stackler, Chief Expert Glass Construction Technology of EuroSkills, Johannes Fiechtl and the Managing Director of C.R. Laurence, Dominik Hinzen sealed the new cooperation at a meeting in Kramsach.

GW-News: Mr Stackler, what are you expecting from CRL as the new main sponsor?

Walter Stackler: First of all, we are very happy to have found in C.R. Laurence a competent partner both for AustrianSkills and for our master courses. The company has entered the consciousness of many of my glazier colleagues in Austria in recent years and has developed into one of the leading suppliers for the glass sector. This makes CRL the ideal partner for us. In addition to financially supporting our activities, we are pleased that our new main sponsor is also contributing expertise and materials to help our team move forward.

GW-News: Mr Fiechtl, you are in charge of the Glass Construction Technology Team in preparation for and during the AustrianSkills itself - as well as the next international round EuroSkills. What is important to you with regard to the new cooperation?

Johannes Fiechtl: First of all, there has to be a good rapport between the partners, and I have a great feeling about the CRL team. The people in charge are completely behind our commitment and support us wherever they can. Cooperation at eye level is very important to us here, with mutual trust, quick decisions and reliable implementation. Our goal is to provide the team with the best possible equipment so that the best possible results are achieved in the competition. Furthermore, through the worldwide presence of the main sponsor, I hope that other countries in Europe will also be enthusiastic about participating in the EuroSkills competitions and that we can thus present our profession to the public even better.

GW-News: What does C.R. Laurence expect from this cooperation, Mr Hinzen?

Dominik Hinzen: First of all, I am very grateful and also proud that our company was asked to take on this role of main sponsor. CRL has been under the radar of many in the industry for a long time and the fact that we are now being asked to support Austria with expertise, products and financial means clearly shows me that we have now stepped out of the shadows and are playing in the top league. That's why we immediately accepted and are happy to be able to support the next generation in this way. Alongside the public perception that our company receives with the sponsorship, it is a particular concern of ours to support the glazier trade and to help to bring working with the wonderful material of glass back into the focus of young people".

GW-News: How exactly will this support work?

Johannes Fiechtl: In addition to the need for tools and consumables for the training courses and competitions as well as the provision of protective clothing and much more, we are pleased that CRL also covers the costs of accommodation and meals for the participants and the organising team. Our master courses also benefit from the new cooperation, as CRL holds theory and practical training courses on the topics of glass bonding and glass cutting at our vocational school in Kramsach. A well-rounded package that benefits all sides equally!
