"With the expansion of our PV system, we now cover around 80 per cent of our electricity needs with renewable energy," says Sales Manager Kevin Berni. With a recycling rate of more than 90 per cent, glass is a particularly resource-conserving building material.

On the other hand, the energy balance of production can be improved. A photovoltaic system has already been supplying the Gersthofen site with almost 260,000 kilowatt hours per year since 2021. The new system will now add around 1,400,000 kilowatt hours per year of solar power.

In addition to the expansion of solar capacity, sedak promotes a number of other measures, from free bicycle rental for employees to efficient energy management in the offices to consistent recycling: up to 94 per cent of the total waste is sorted and recycled; for example, 95 per cent of PVB and SG interlayer waste is returned to the manufacturer.
