Systron proHD:

An all-round glass processing machine for glass and metal builder in Austria

The great strength of Günter Temmel and his team of 44 staff lies in their versatility. They not only cover the area of glass production, but also specialise in metal and aluminium construction. In addition to all kinds of glass for interiors, they also produce windows, doors, railings and facades. Many glazieries, locksmiths, carpenters, interior decorators, as well as well-known customers such as the botanical garden of the University of Graz, various banks or the Vienna Cathedral Bookshop rely on Temmel.

Future-proof with LSG

After Günter Temmel had started out on his own in 1994, a major expansion took place in 2010, when the current production site in Ragnitz, including a new tempering furnace for ESG, was built. In 2021, the next future-oriented step was taken: An additional hall was built in which LSG is now primarily produced. The new heart of this installation is the new Systron system.

All-in-one processing system

Until the purchase of the Systron 5027proHD glass processing centre including washing & drying station in summer 2021, the Temmel team worked on a horizontal system for CNC glass processing and on a vertical system for milling and drilling. Now everything is combined in one system and the processed pieces can then go straight into the hardening furnace without having to be reworked at great expense.

Automation as the next conceivable step

The Systron high-pressure waterjet creates bores and any kind of cut-outs, which can be hardened directly.

Temmel's team is very well trained and many colleagues are able to operate a wide variety of production facilities in the company. By combining glass and metal, the company can also offer its customers a corresponding added value. Nevertheless, in addition to quality, price also counts. In order to remain competitive in the long term, Günter Temmel is therefore considering investing in automation. With a Systron inline storage solution, for example, up to 30 glasses could be processed in a night shift without an operator. Solutions with the use of robots, compartment carts or L-frames also contribute to an increase in efficiency of about 30 per cent.
