masson, GGW and Chromogenics become partners

Pioneering cooperation brings switchable glass to the world of conservatories

As part of the new co-operation, the conservatories of the premium manufacturer masson can now be fitted with switchable glass on request. The electrochromic glasses are distributed in Germany by GGW. The switchable ConverLight glass enables controllable light transmission, which raises living comfort in conservatories to a new level. Thanks to the variable g-value, they block unwanted heat radiation in summer and support the glass house effect in the winter months, ensuring consistently pleasant temperatures in the conservatory without having to rely on awnings or other shading solutions.

The technology behind ConverLight is based on a multi-layer structure between PVB films and toughened glass, which changes the tint when required using minimal electric current. The glass can be integrated into both the roof and the side elements of the conservatory in a 2 or 3-layer structure. Seamless integration into a smart home system and manual operation of the electrochromic glass panes are further options.

Customers, especially in windy regions of northern Germany, benefit from the innovative technology, as the sun shading is housed in the conservatory glass regardless of the weather. This opens up new perspectives for architects, building owners and planners in terms of planning and realisation.

According to the partners, the collaboration between masson, GGW and Chromogenics marks a significant step towards sustainable and intelligent building technologies. The focus on energy-efficient solutions emphasises the companies' commitment to forward-looking construction methods.

About the switchable glass

ConverLight switchable glass is supplied as LSG and can then be used in double and triple insulating glass units. Seamless integration of the switchable glass into an existing smart home system is possible, as is manual control of the glass panes. ConverLight glass is distributed by GGW in the German-speaking regions.
