Until 30 June 2025, products with the CE marking can continue to be placed on the market in the UK and the UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessed) mark of conformity, introduced in January 2021, is therefore not mandatory until then.

"The German Prüfungsinstitut Schlösser und Beschläge Velbert (PIV) welcomes this decision, because the postponement of the transition period now also for construction products takes the pressure off the processes and gives manufacturers the necessary time for the changeover," says Andrea Horsthemke, head of the PIV.
