Kuraray, manufacturer of laminated safety glass interlayers, has announced that it will increase the prices of their products Trosifol PVB and SentryGlas Ionoplast globally for deliveries from 1 May, 2021 onwards. Will laminated glass manufacturers pass this price increase on, and will laminated glass then also become more expensive?

Kuraray has cited the significant cost increases in raw materials, packaging materials, transportation and logistics as the reasons for the price increase for Trosifol PVB as well as SentryGlas Ionoplast interlayers.

Which global regions are affected by the price increase of LSG interlayers?

The price increase applies to Trosifol and SentryGlas interlayers in all regions worldwide and it is to the amount of 0.30 US dollars per square metre (0.76 mm / 30 mil equivalent) or even higher. The new prices have been in effect since May 1, 2021.
