In order to enable market partners to fully cover the relevant demand segment, the manufacturer now offers a new member of the internationally successful Roto Patio Inowa product range. It is said that this allows maximum dimensions of 3,000 mm x 3,600 mm (width x height) to be realised with elements weighing up to 400 kg. This is the first and so far the only solution of its kind in the Retract & Slide class.
[Roto Patio Life: Easy sliding while saving energy]
The expansion of the range, which was previously limited to sash weights of up to 200 kg, increases its already great variety even further. It starts with the suitability for all common frame materials (PVC, timber, aluminium, timber-aluminium). In addition, construction projects ranging from small sliding windows to oversized sliding elements can now be realised with one hardware system. Finally, the wide range of applications extends to different types of buildings, from single-family and multi-family houses to large projects in "megacities" with high noise and wind loads.
New carriage technology
In addition, the easy operation of even extra-large and heavy door leaves is one of the decisive advantages of Patio Inowa | 400. This is made possible by a new robust carriage with stable, smooth-running rollers. The integrated linear ball bearing is an important comfort factor due to rolling friction during the transverse movement of the leaf. The carriage also ensures safe weight transfer. It has integrated brushes and allows a height adjustment of -1 to +3 mm on the gear side.
Ball-bearing locking mechanism
The special closing movement transverse to the frame profile remains the basic principle of "smart sliding". Retrofittable and combinable soft functions for mechanically controlled, braked opening and closing bring about a further increase in comfort. According to Roto, the addition to the hardware range is also based on the development of new pivots. In the version for timber, PVC and timber-aluminium profiles, a (ball-bearing) K-pin is now used instead of an eccentric pin for centre closures. The counterpart for aluminium profiles is the two-piece control pin, also with ball bearings.
Functionally the same in all weight classes
The manufacturer also emphasises that the complete Patio Inowa range is characterised by a number of common features. For example, the 200 mm long handle lever is used both in the Patio 200 kg variant and in the new 400 kg sash weight variant. The circumferential seal and the active control of the locking points guarantee absolutely tight sash elements in all weight classes, even during storms and heavy rain.

Equipped with the appropriate components, the window manufacturer is able to achieve burglar resistance according to RC 2. In addition, the system can be supplemented with wired MVS contact elements that monitor the opening and closing status of the sliding element according to VDS class B.
Allowing accessibility according to DIN
Hidden technology, shapely components and cover caps meet the growing design awareness in the building sector. This also applies to low thresholds, which enable barrier-free accessibility in accordance with DIN 18040.
Production processes made more efficient
The simple integration into the production processes results, among other things, from the limitation to a few screws, well thought-out aids such as drilling jigs and the uncomplicated loosening of the centre fixation. Furthermore, the use of matching Roto NX and Roto AL tilt and turn fittings noticeably reduces storage and logistics costs. An anti-tilt device extends the aspect ratio to 3:1.
