The start-up SunCurtain from Kitzingen in southern Germany has developed a solution in which curtains become an electricity generator. With the help of an innovative shading system, electricity is generated from sunlight and made available to the user.

SunCurtain presents a curtain with a classic appearance, whose slats consist of flexible, partially transparent organic photovoltaic elements. The start-up has specialised in developing photovoltaic-active shading systems based on organic photovoltaic technology, or OPV for short. The company produces OPV shading systems for a wide range of applications and distributes them together with partners.
