With Wicline 75 Industrial Design (ID), Wicona presents an aesthetic and sustainable alternative to steel windows. According to the developer, this new product is ideally suited for the renovation of historical buildings as well as for new construction projects in industrial design.
Wicona now offers aluminium profiles for facades, doors and windows that are made from 100% recycled end-of-life aluminium. This will also have an impact on building certification. Here are the details.
The Hydro Group completed the acquisition of Hueck, manufacturer of aluminium systems for facades, on 28 February 2023, following approval by the competition authorities in Germany and Austria. The acquisition strengthens Hydro Building Systems' position in Europe and increases its presence.

GW News recently spoke to Dr Werner Jager, who as Managing Director at Wicona is in charge of the technology segment. Among other things, we wanted to know from him how the market accepts the Hydro Circal 75R, a sustainable aluminium alloy made from recycled aluminium. He also provides information on the role 3D printing of facade nodes plays in the realisation of free-form facades and, last but not least, what Wicona earns its money with.
