According to Fineo, – and as we have reported already – the new dimensions are a response to market requirements and open up new possibilities for the use of vacuum insulating glass in renovation and new build projects.

In addition, an improved material is used for the edge seal, which should further optimise the durability and performance of the product.

The introduction of the new production line will enable Fineo to quadruple its previous capacity. ‘The market for vacuum insulating glass is growing strongly and we can see that competition is also increasing. This is good for the industry, as it helps to further establish vacuum glass in the market,’ says Jerome Goubau, Advanced Solutions Director at Fineo, in an interview with GW-News editor Matthias Rehberger at Bau 2025.

Certifications for more market security

Another important step towards increasing confidence in Valuum glass is country-specific certifications. ‘We are working on carrying out the certifications in the respective countries to give our market partners and customers more security,’ says Goubau.

Davide Cappellino, CEO of AGC Glass Europe and President of AGC Architectural Glass Europe and Americas Company, explains at BAU: ‘Fineo will be of great importance to the construction industry for the restoration and modernisation of windows and facades of the large European building stock, many of which are poorly insulated and cannot easily accommodate thicker insulating glass. At the same time, Fineo will also be a solution for new buildings due to its slim design.’
