With the glass in Guardian Glass’ Guardian Sun range, homeowners can get exactly the sun shading they need, depending on the light transmittance of the building. Ideal for large glazed areas and windows with high solar gain, Guardian Sun helps prevent excessive heating of interiors in summer while retaining heat indoors in winter. Guardian Sun is available in sizes up to 6000 x 3210 mm (Jumbo).
This allows for even more comfort in the home, letting in natural light and opening up a clear, unobstructed view of the outdoors in all seasons, according to the developers. In addition, the glasses can help reduce energy consumption by reducing the need for air conditioning in summer and heating in winter.
Online search engine tool for the right glass
"With Guardian Sun, we are not just launching a new family of glass products," said Susana Gago, Sector Marketing Manager Residential Europe at Guardian Glass. "We are offering a comprehensive package of solutions for homeowners to help them find the right product for their requirements when purchasing new windows."

This includes a Glass Customizer, which can be used online on the Guardian Glass website. The user then enters a few questions about their specific requirements, after which the most suitable product is recommended for further consultation at their local window specialist. In order to find such a company in your vicinity, a corresponding search engine will soon be available.
How can the new Guardian Sun glass be used?
All Sun products are suitable for the production of double and triple insulating glass units. The glasses not only have a high degree of light transmission, thermal insulation and sun shading, they can also be laminated. In this way, security and/or sound insulation can be increased.
Training and support for window manufacturers
Guardian also offers a comprehensive package of support for window manufacturers. This includes technical services such as property and acoustic calculations, visualisation tools and promotional materials such as brochures and videos.

Window contractors can also use the Guardian Glass Training Centre, a new online training centre. This digital learning platform offers various interactive tools and resources on glass and glass applications, including video-based tutorials, accredited training modules, webinars and the ability to schedule face-to-face training sessions. The tools are available around the clock and can thus be used at any time. Specific training modules for window installers will be made available soon, Guardian says.
