"We want to show solutions with which our customers can achieve sustainable added value," emphasises Hegla Managing Director Bernhard Hötger. "One of our heart projects in mechanical engineering was to significantly improve the cycle time in LSG cutting."
The result is laser diode heating. The new laser technology focuses the film precisely in the scribe contour and reaches the transformation temperature much faster than conventional heating tubes. "The focused heat input improves the productivity of the entire cutting process by 20 per cent, so that a significantly higher slice throughput can be achieved," Hötger continues.
Software of the latest generation
With Cut+, Hegla-Hanic had already introduced a completely reprogrammed software for the organisation of a cutting table (HMI) last year. At glasstec, the Bochum-based company will now give visitors an insight into the new generation of the ERP system, which can integrate all processes from digital order entry to the warehouse, from the individual machines to delivery to the construction site.
Turning standard into added value
Bird-protection glass, antibacterial glass panes, heatable glass or mobile-radio-permeable ISO units: Hegla boraident from Halle/Saale wants to demonstrate how easy it is to turn a standard product into a commercial good with added value.

In addition to the possibility of functionalising a glass pane without pre-setting times or service providers, one of the biggest advantages for Thomas Rainer is "batch size 1": "Via the user-friendly interface or through connection to the ERP, each pane can be processed individually and without waiting time with the various finishes".
Automation for the tempering furnace
Tempered glass as good as glass can be is the promise of Hegla TaiFin from Finland, which uses convection technology and closely controllable heating zones to advertise qualities far above the industry standard.

The kiln bed optimisation of the Hegla-Hanic determines the optimal batch occupancy, and for maximum automation, the glass can be compiled by the Hegla's automatic batch formation without an operator and separated again as "debatching".
Perfect maintenance via app
The shop floor app from Hegla New Technology meets the increasing demand for information and defined processes. Machines and systems can be integrated in the maintenance area of the app across all manufacturers and, for example, documentation and spare parts lists can be stored. An automatic ticket system then reminds the user of the required maintenance and stores its execution.
