PIV expands testing capacities: New auditor ensures faster certifications

After his induction, Boumouchoun will monitor certified customers of construction products such as locks, fittings, windows, doors and gates in Germany and abroad. In doing so, he will check compliance with relevant standard requirements, the Construction Products Regulation and the voluntary ‘PIV CERT’ certification programme. He will also support the institute's director, Andrea Horsthemke, in quality management.

Boumouchoun brings extensive qualifications to the table: he is a trained quality representative, quality manager and quality auditor in accordance with ISO 9001. In his last position, he worked as a test engineer and was responsible for the development, evaluation and documentation of prototypes subject to monitoring and newly developed prototypes.

Previously, Boumouchoun worked as a quality management representative and quality manager. In this role, he was responsible for all certifications and internal audits and headed the QA team. He began his professional career at Ford, where he worked for 27 years. There, he first completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic and later obtained his industrial foreman qualification.

The entire team at the Quality Association for Locks and Fittings and the PIV look forward to working with Jamal Boumouchoun and benefiting from his expertise.

The testing institute, which belongs to the Quality Association, carries out mechanical product tests on locks and fittings as well as on windows and doors, and also tests mechatronics. These tests serve to ensure quality standards. Since 1978, the PIV has been testing, certifying and monitoring locks, fittings, windows and doors and has been involved in national and international standardisation committees for these product groups.
