Surrounded by historic baroque facades and the medieval Karlstor, the new building of the traditional Hotel Koenigshof opposite Munich's Stachus presents itself as an avant-garde cube with an unprecedented facade divided by a deep gap.
The imposing incision in the volume creates a monumental atrium that can be experienced from the foyer to the roof terrace. For the architects, this is an opening to the city, an architectural dialogue between inside and outside. For the guests, a fascinating spatial experience with an almost magical incidence of light, offering a different view of Munich's historic city centre from every floor.

Splendid elegance dominates the interior design of the hotel. Warm contrasts and exquisite materials create a sophisticated atmosphere. Gold-coloured metal panels made of folded perforated sheeting create a pleasant atmosphere both in terms of colour and acoustics, with a subdued volume throughout the atrium.
Exclusive facade glass for optimum comfort
Outstanding sound insulation and maximum daylight comfort were the requirements for the glazing in the Hotel Koenigshof. The box-type windows in the guest rooms provide sound insulation of over 50 dB, ensuring that guests can sleep peacefully.
