Instead of the familiar black or grey spacers, the new product uses grooved glass spacers on the visible sides of the insulating glass, which discreetly set back the joints of the glass edges and thus create a clear, harmonious appearance.
An integrated TGI M spacer on the non-visible sides creates a corner joint that is both a primary and secondary seal. This ensures that the insulating glass is gas-tight and moisture-resistant. Independent tests have confirmed this: Even after 70,000 opening and closing cycles, the argon filling remained stable with virtually no change in value. This result emphasises the durability and reliability of the system, even with intensive use, according to the supplier.

Advantages of the new glass spacer
The polished glass edges resulting from the use of the glass spacers are not only visually appealing, but are also convincing in functional terms: they minimise susceptibility to soiling and prevent matt spots, which often occur with conventional spacers.
A precise application of adhesive - where a very small amount is sufficient - ensures an even bond between the components. With the help of a powerful UV lamp, the adhesive is cured within 10 seconds, which not only significantly shortens production time, but also reduces energy consumption during manufacture.
Another technical advantage is the warm edge created by the TGI spacer. This structure minimises heat loss along the glass and makes a significant contribution to the energy efficiency of the glazing. This makes the new solution suitable for demanding cooling environments, where energy saving and thermal efficiency are key requirements.

In addition to the functional and aesthetic benefits, the insulating glass units with glass spacers also score points from an ecological perspective: the product is fully recyclable and therefore fits into a sustainable production and utilisation chain. With this product innovation, Isotherm demonstrates how technological excellence can be combined with environmentally friendly production methods and a clear design claim.
