Just outside the Périphérique, the notorious motorway ring around Paris, is the newly constructed building "l'Osange". In the heart of the new ZAC Seguin Rives de Seine district, living space with 46 flats and studios was created here on seven floors. The client and architects had come up with something very special for the facade: it was to nestle against the building like a second skin and give the residents the clearest possible view of nature. To implement this concept, Colt International opted for high-quality sliding glass shutters from the Ellisse series.
Multiple possibilities

Based on a design by the architects, Colt installed a total of 224 Ellisse sliding glass shutters over an area of 517.5 m2 in l'Osange. The top and bottom guide rails, in which the sliding shutters can be moved manually, are made of aluminium. In order to meet the aesthetic aspirations of the building, Colt covered them at the end so that they are not visible. Thanks to their versatility, sliding shutters are now an integral part of modern architecture.
Colt International offers various types of sliding shutters in many materials and with different infills. In addition to the glass sliding shutters used in Boulogne-Billancourt, there are also, for example, wood, metal, fabric, perforated sheeting or ceramics available. This variety opens up almost unlimited possibilities for individual facade design.
Long-lasting privacy and sun shading
In addition, the sliding shutters naturally also fulfil various functions, depending on the application. Glare protection, privacy protection, external sun shading or - as on the balconies in l'Osange - individually adjustable ‘conservatories’ can be realised in a visually appealing way.

There are systems with one or more rails that can be operated manually or by electric motor. Specially developed drive technologies ensure maximum comfort and extreme durability. Even the use of solar energy on the sliding shutters can be implemented. In this way, Colt International guarantees optimum privacy and sun shading while at the same time conserving resources.
Dynamic facade
Paris-based architects Brenac & Gonzalez & Associés designed the l'Osange residential project in Boulogne-Billancourt for CBC Construction (VINCI Group), the building's owner and operator. Most of the building's balconies face south and offer maximum views of the landscape with predominantly floor-to-ceiling windows.

The movable sliding glass shutters give the facade its own unique dynamic. The interplay of colourful accents and ever-changing reflections offers the viewer a varied picture. In the process, the elegant Ellisse sliding shutter system creates a solution that allows the residents of l'Osange to individually design and optimally use their balconies.
Sophisticated technology
The low-maintenance suspended bearing of the sliding shutter system is achieved by means of two double-pair rolling apparatuses - with precision ball bearings - at the head of the shutter. The horizontally running rolling apparatus is guided in a special extruded aluminium rail.
Depending on the shading area to be achieved and the design of the facade, the system can also be designed with multiple tracks. In the area of the lower guide, various options are available, which are selected and adapted according to the object.
