The new SunGuard eXtraSelective solar control glass with its triple silver coating SunGuard SNX 70 appears clear and natural, and the way it reflects light ensures a uniform aesthetic even across contours and different viewing angles.
For architects, SunGuard SNX 70 thus expands the possibilities for introducing more daylight into buildings, increasing energy efficiency and occupant comfort, while creating even more aesthetically pleasing designs. The extra natural light can enhance occupant wellbeing and, especially in offices, health and education facilities, promote concentration, recovery and learning.
Good combination of Guardian glass types
SunGuard SNX 70 Ultra: The new glass is very effective in combination with Guardian UltraClear as a base - available as SunGuard SNX 70 Ultra. In standard 2-pane insulating glass, the result is a light transmittance of 68%, an energy transmittance (g-value) of 32% and an Ug-value of 1.0 W/m2K. In standard triple insulating glass, it offers an equally very high light transmittance of 62 %, a g-value of 30 % and a Ug-value of 0.5 W/m2K. The high transparency also ensures increased colour fidelity in views from inside and outside.
Also Cradle to Cradle certified
SunGuard SNX 70 can also support sustainability efforts. As part of the SunGuard product range in Europe and Russia, it has an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) and has been independently assessed for sustainable product attributes under the Cradle to Cradle Certified programme and certified Bronze.
The glass's low external reflectance of 13% gives buildings an elegant character that makes them appear more vibrant in their surroundings and more attractive to passers-by.
Says Andras Kovacs, Product Manager - Commercialization at Guardian Glass Europe: "Until now, when using high-performance glass, architects have often had to compromise on the overall appearance of a façade. SNX 70 now offers the perfect balance of solar control, natural light transmission and a strikingly clean aesthetic."
