In Kirchdorf in Tyrol, Austria, at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser, the Oberhabach holiday estate invites guests to spend their holidays on a farm. In order to offer guests the best possible comfort on the large outdoor terrace, the owning family decided to have a new awning system installed.
"The new shading system was to replace the previous screen solution in order to create more space for seating and to provide protection against rain. We suggested our new 'pergola stretch' model to the family for this purpose," explains Jan Kattenbeck, Sales Manager for Internal Sales and Head of "team : project" at markilux. Because of its special drive technology, the system is particularly suitable to provide sun shading and rain protection for large outdoor areas in the hospitality and hotel industry.
Size and appearance go together
On the terrace of the Oberhabach holiday estate, for example, a 3-field system with an area of 107 square metres and the integrated LED Line lighting system was used. "The system could be securely fastened to the facade with the supporting wooden beams of the outdoor balcony. The system now covers around 50 seats," says Kattenbeck. In addition to the size, the visual appearance also played a decisive role in the choice of this model of awning. The modern character of the pergola system had to fit in with the traditional Tyrolean architecture of the holiday estate and also blend into the landscape. For this reason, markilux recommended a brown colour for the frame to match the natural wooden elements of the house and a light-coloured fabric that is waterproof to protect against rain.
