As announced at earlier in the year, the now officially launched new low-carbon glass offers a wide range of processing options, says the glass manufacturer, and can be processed into AGC's main functional glazing products:
- Safety glass: Stratobel and Stratophone
- Thermal insulation glass: iplus
- Solar control glass: Stopray, ipasol and Energy
The new low-carbon glass products will offer the same aesthetics, quality and technical output as AGC's traditional float glass products, developers say.
40 per cent less CO2 emissions
Speaking at glasstec, Davide Cappellino, president of Architectural Glass Europe & Americas Company, said: "Our first low carbon glass range is an important milestone in AGC's roadmap to carbon neutrality. We are pleased to offer our customers glass products that produce around 40 per cent less CO2 than our previous base glass, from raw material extraction to final application. This is a significant reduction and a big step towards carbon neutrality in the building sector."
